We have been advised that putting in 18" insulation in our attic would save us considerably for our energy costs. We currently have insulation but are not sure how much. We don't use the second floor in the winter and therefore do not heat it(though there's no way to cut it off completely from the rest of the house. Would the savings be worth the expenditure for the insulation?
